Vehicle Transport FAQ
Here are some of the most common questions:
1. Q. How long does shipment usually take?
A. After your vehicle transport quote. One of the hardest things to predict is cross country travel conditions; however, 99% of our shipments arrive within 1-5 business days. Please allow us a 2-3 business day window, as conditions may vary. Please keep in mind that the sooner you schedule your vehicle transport for delivery, the sooner Onward Transport can expedite the shipping process.
2. Q. How will it be transported?
A. For most vehicle transport quotes we use the industry standard 8 or 10 car hauler, which is the same that is ;used to deliver new cars to dealerships.On smaller loads, a smaller trailer may be used for vehicle transport to be more cost-effective to you, the customer.
3. Q. Where will they be delivered?
A. Our driver will deliver your vehicle(s) to the address or dealership specified in your order, and once arrived, will coordinate with lot personnel as to the overall placement of the vehicles so as to inconvenience you, or obstruct the normal flow of business at your establishment.
4. Q. Will my vehicle(s) go to a terminal?
A. The only time Onward Transport uses terminals is if the area specified for delivery has road restrictions preventing semi trailer access. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your delivery order. If this is the case, we here at Onward Transport will coordinate with you and your staff to compliment this minor inconvenience.
5. Q. How does it work?
A. First you must get a vehicle transport quote.Once your order is placed, your delivery will be scheduled according to the dates indicated on your order. Once your order has been assigned, a vehicle transport driver or dispatcher will contact you to re-confirm the delivery, and schedule an appropriate time for delivery. Upon the delivery of your vehicle(s), you and the driver will make a thorough inspection of all vehicles and discuss any discrepancies. If any damage or discrepancies have occurred, please contact us at Onward Transport, and we will make a 110% effort to remedy the situation.
6. Q. Can you haul other items with our cars to save time & money?
A. Unfortunately, no. Our drivers are not permitted by law to transport personal belongings, as they do not have household goods transportation licensing, and could be fined for up to $10,000 per infraction. Also, these items could not be covered by our insurance, and could therefore not be guaranteed.
7. Q. What forms of payment are accepted?
A. All carriers accept cashier's checks, cash, C.O.D., & money orders. If arranged prior to delivery, you may pre-pay with personal or business checks.
